Pentair Industrial Solutions business unit is experiencing significant growth. One of Pentair’s strategic growth pillars is the Biogas area. The projects will be engineered and produced at our Pentair sites or at an approved supplier. Pentair - Sustainable Gas Solutions (SGS) is specialized within CO₂ recovery solutions and Biogas upgrading solution. Software Engineer
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
As a Software Engineer, you are responsible for designing and developing software for CO₂ recovery and Biogas control systems.
After designing the software, you are also responsible for conducting the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) together with the Process Control Engineer, who oversees the functional descriptions.
During commissioning, you provide support for putting the projects into operation. These activities can take place both at the office and on-site.
In addition to executing projects, you are also involved in optimizing the software standard.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and Develop: Develop software solutions for the product portfolio; Implement the design in compliance with the law and standards / with the required implementation regulations at the place of use/installation of the plant; set up solution drafts ready to be drafted - considering functional, HSE and economic aspects as well as an evaluation and comparison with existing designs.
- Order management: Support Lead Engineers; ensure good quality and timely completion of the engineering within the project timeline.
- Communication & exchange of information: Exchange of information with the other teams and specialist departments, (e.g., alignment of detail design with mechanical engineering & automation and commissioning; as well as suppliers). Provide input to Team Leader and Process regarding improvements and developments in architecture.
- Documentation & risk assessments: Preparation of additional information for installation / maintenance instructions and operation manuals; Set up FAT and SAT reports; Work instructions of archived software supporting documents for the plants; Handle Project Documentation Templates and Deliverables
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing technical knowledge to other departments and projects in the role of a subject matter expert
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES
- Siemens TIA Portal knowledge for PLC and HMI programming
- Siemens STEP 7 knowledge for PLC programming
- Siemens WinCC flexible knowledge for HMI programming
- Rockwell Allen Bradley is nice to have.
- Experience in reading and analyzing electrical diagrams and P&IDs
- Experience creating FAT/SAT reports.
- Experiences with setting up Safety PLC systems.
- Industrial communication Profinet, Profibus, Modbus etc.
- Knowledge of relevant guidelines and norms.
- Advanced level in English; Dutch is a plus
- Independent, proactive, flexible and determined and resilient to stress.
- Team-player who enjoys working closely with others and thrives in a team environment.
- Creative in finding solutions, with a strong commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills with a customer-oriented and commercial mind-set.
- Analytical and able to maintain an overview of complex processes.
- Willingness to work internationally (~15%).
