- Working with development teams and project managers to ideate software solutions
- Design client-side and server-side architecture
- Build the front-end and/or back-end of applications
- Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
- Write effective APIs
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
- Create security and data protection settings
- Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
Requirements
In retrospect, what we feel as a minimum requirement is at least 5 years of experience as part of an engineering team, regardless of stack, level or position. You'll definitely need analytical, communication and organisational skills to stay ahead of the pace and challenges of this position.
You'll need to be aware of and understand:
- Front-end languages, libraries and frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, JavaScript, React, Vue)
- Back-end languages, libraries and frameworks (e.g. Python, Django, DRF, PHP)
- Databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgresQL), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design principles
- Key cloud services (preferably in AWS) for web development and production environments
- CI/CD workflows including version control and containerization
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
That is, a well and rounded view of all the different parts of software engineering.
We're open to hearing from you regardless of any specialisation you might have (ex. UI development vs DevOps).
Thank you for taking the time to consider Pixelocracy as your next step!

What We Do
We are a technology house based in the Athens Metropolitan Area.
We believe in creating software products through a human-centric, partnership-based approach, all across the aisle. From the team and our network all the way to our clients.
We advocate for a workplace consisting of people with a personal drive for progress, as well as a workplace that enforces and maintains a strong sense of self-management, ownership and accountability, traits which we practice and cultivate almost on a daily basis.
We leverage various tools and practices to maintain a consistent alignment between the members of our team and the company’s leadership and overall strategy, ranging from daily syncs on the spot to quarterly 360 retrospectives.
We maintain a hybrid-model (remote and office), relying on a sense of community with equal independence for its members.
We coach all of our employees on soft-skills, regardless of their role in the team. We focus our current and future leaders on empathetic leadership.
We are far from perfect, but we’re doing good.
We offer the opportunity to create truly impactful products as well as directly influence the development of the company and its functional areas.
We hope to one day help spread the word that technology and software engineering are far better when it’s all about the humans behind them.
