Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park (Hybrid)

Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

Impact & contribution
The Software Engineer will be contributing towards building best in class centralised reporting platform. You will be involved from requirements, design, development, CICD, and implementation.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and Develop an Enterprise application with high volume of data (More than 10s of billions)
- Build and run a new greenfield application in Java (Spring boot) with different types of databases including relational, document, key vale and graph.
- Take part in design and document the same through UML diagrams
- Effectively manage relationships and communications with project stakeholders, including business and delivery teams
- Take part in design and build of the cloud infrastructure in AWS through infrastructure as a code.
- Contribute to DevSecOps changes and help the engineering chapter towards higher DevSecOps maturity
- Review and contribute to all reference architecture and Platform initiatives in CBA
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry developments, directions, and best practices.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Enforce and drive best practices in engineering space
- Contribute to test automation including unit testing and integration testing
- Contribute to triage of production and test environment issues.
- Act as a role model by consistently displaying leadership behaviour that encourages productive working relationships and a strong performance culture, as well as an open, creative, and innovative approach to the case management platform.
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry developments, directions, and best practices.
- Enforce best practices in PEGA architecture / design / coding
Essential Skills
- 4.5 years + of development experience in any object-oriented programing language, preferably Java (Spring boot).
- Strong understanding of data structures and efficient management of memory.
- Preferable to have experience in working with application that handles huge volumes of data (More than 10s of billions)
- Have worked as a full cycle engineers who can gather requirement, design, develop, test, release and do production support.
- Have experience in codifying infrastructure.
- Good understanding of relational databases, SQL queries and tuning of the same. Involved in data model design of an enterprise application will be an advantage.
- Good to have exposure to different types of databases like key value pair, document and graph. Exposure to data warehouses like AWS redshift will be an advantage.
- Worked in an agile environment.
- Experience in development and collaboration tools like GIT, Jira, Confluence.
- Good experience in working in a large team.
- Good understanding of enterprise solutions and architecture
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
