DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Participate in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Follow Agile development practices to continuously deliver high quality software. Participate in daily scrums, bi-weekly sprint planning, and review and retrospective meetings. Ensure high standards of code quality, test coverage, and performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or in a related field of study. plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Technical Analyst, or in a related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires 7 years of experience with the following: Designing and developing applications to solve complex financial problems using Java technologies including J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Python, and Scala; Developing REST and SOAP based microservices for generation of financial reports such as CCAR and CECL; Developing messaging solutions using Apache Kafka; Deploying applications using Apache Tomcat and WebSphere; Software deployment using tools including Maven, Apache Ant, and Jenkins; Performing various types of testing such as Automated Testing, Functional Testing, Manual Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, System Integration Testing, Unit Testing and User Acceptance Testing using tools including Selenium and Junit; Performing data modeling, data manipulation, data design flow and query optimization with Databases including Oracle, DB2, Mongo DB, and Cassandra; Developing data solutions using Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, and Apache Zookeeper; Practicing Agile SDLC and Waterfall SDLC models for Software Development; and OS platforms including Linux, Unix, and Windows. This position requires 5 years of experience with the following: Creating financial reports using Business Intelligence tools such as Arcadia and Datameer. This position requires 3 years of experience with the following: Application Architecture Disciplines and Data Architecture Disciplines. This position requires experience with the following: Utilizing HTML, Javascript, CSS, Shell Scripting, JSON, and XML; Version control tools including GIT and SVN; AWS Cloud Services; and Working on creating Monitoring and Alerting using tools including Splunk.
