The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing a suite of APIs that are used by millions of consumers daily, under the guidance and supervision of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the full development process: design, development, testing, and deployment under direct supervision
• Maintain and enhance existing code, focusing on practical implementation
• Collaborate with team members to create and improve development documentation
• Produce unit-tested software that meets defined requirements with high quality
• Adhere to the software development lifecycle throughout the development process
• Work within an agile Scrum team, following all agile principles
• Engage with business units to clarify requirements and specifications
• Work collaboratively on some tasks and independently on others
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality product development

Essential Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong understanding of development best practices and standards (e.g., design patterns, coding standards)
• Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to build applications
• Proficient in Git, including branching and version control
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a self-driven approach to learning
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Python development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with REST API development
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database design
• Familiarity with high-volume API services, caching, distributed processing, replication, and performance profiling (dependent on team)
• Basic Linux system administration skills
