Job Overview
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Software Engineer on the Applied Epic Team. Applied Epic enables insurance agencies to maintain a unified view of their customer base while configuring the application to align with business needs.
What You'll Do

• Contribute to design, development, and automated testing to ensure high value and high-quality software for the business of insurance
• Develop and maintain ETL and middleware tools written in Python
• Maintain integrations with Salesforce and the Applied Epic database
• Routinely review code, configuration, data, and usage to ensure long-term viability and integrity
• Share ideas in code reviews and design reviews to build in alignment with the technical vision
• Make suggestions and recommendations for modifications and enhancements to system and process improvement and efficiency
• Design, code, test, debug, package, and deploy solutions, with a focus on ETL and middleware
• Work closely with Customer Support to triage and fix production issues

What You'll Need to Succeed

• 3+ years of practical software development experience with Python, C#, Java
• Practical experience writing efficient SQL queries with joins
• Practical experience with APIs
• Experience with Git
• Working knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, and CSS
• Commitment to continuously learning new technologies
• Experience with Agile development practices and implementation, including day-to-day operations, and long-term maintenance of Salesforce would be helpful
• Bachelor level degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
