POSITION SUMMARY:

We're seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 4 years’ experience for our Device Trust team. This position requires proficiency in Core Java, the Spring Framework, scripting languages such as bash or python, and other server-side technologies. 

Primary responsibilities involve constructing efficient server-side components, including RESTful/GraphQL services, designing, and developing algorithms, and debugging troubleshooting existing applications.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced agile environment and be willing to work with teams spread across different time zones. The successful candidate will be self-driven, detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and have excellent communication skills. Proficiency in an object-oriented language other than Java, experience with Git, and knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and related technologies are preferred. They will also be expected to troubleshoot and debug existing applications, create comprehensive documentation, and aim for 100% unit test coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply asynchronous programming concepts to develop efficient backend and RESTful services using Core Java, the Spring Framework (Boot), and relevant server-side technologies.
• Comfortable with the agile development process.
• Design and implement efficient algorithms and data structures.

• Participate in code reviews and refactor or redesign existing code.

COMPETENCIES:

• 4+ years of Software Development Experience
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment with remote or distributed teams, including potential late or early conference calls, if necessary.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Proficiency in Core Java, Spring Framework, and related server-side technologies is required.
• Experience with either SQL (MySQL) or NoSQL databases like Cassandra is necessary.
• Must have experience with Git and an understanding of CI/CD Pipelines is preferred.
• Must be comfortable with developing and deploying applications on Linux.
• Experience with at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.) is necessary.
• Proficiency in more than one object-oriented language in addition to Java is a plus.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• Knowledge of Search technologies like Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of Cloud native applications deployed using Docker and or Kubernetes is beneficial.
• Familiarity with SSL/TLS, PKI, and other security-related technologies is beneficial.
• Understanding of SSO (SAML, OIDC & OAUTH) protocols is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Elastic Search or NoSQL databases is beneficial.
• Experience with agile practices (e.g., SCRUM) and planning tools like JIRA
