At Sentinel Eagle, we build autonomous UAV systems that work where GPS and communications fail.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone excited to build software that directly impacts how autonomous aerial systems perceive, navigate, and operate.
Our core stack includes:
Python as the main programming language
C++ and Rust for performance-critical components and ArduPilot integration
OpenCV, PyTorch, and Hailo for computer vision and AI
MAVLink/ArduPilot for communication with the autopilot
Raspberry Pi/Linux as the embedded environment
You will work on software for autonomous drones, including:
development of robust and efficient systems that end up being our core products
creation of internal tools for visualization and analysis of data from our on-site tests
integration with autopilot, cameras, and onboard devices
computer vision pipelines for detection, tracking, and image processing
embedded Linux software on Raspberry Pi
This role sits at the intersection of software, embedded systems, and AI.
We are looking for someone with:
high familiarity with at least one of those languages: Python, Rust, C++
experience with Linux-based development
solid prioritization skills and clear judgment on what deserves focus
fluid in standard software-engineer practices, such as git, CI, testing, deployment
Nice to have:
experience with MAVLink/ArduPilot or tracking/detection systems
familiarity with embedded devices such as Raspberry Pi
knowledge of topics related to Linux and operating systems
Skills Required
- High familiarity with at least one of Python, Rust, or C++
- Experience with Linux-based development
- Strong prioritization skills and clear judgment
- Familiarity with standard software engineering practices, including Git, CI, testing, and deployment
- Experience with MAVLink, ArduPilot, or tracking and detection systems
- Familiarity with embedded devices such as Raspberry Pi
- Knowledge of Linux and operating system concepts
What We Do
Sentinel Eagle develops autonomous UAV systems and non-GNSS navigation technology for drones operating where GPS and communications fail. Its visual-inertial-odometry technology uses camera feeds, satellite imagery, and onboard computing to determine a drone’s position relative to the ground. The company’s systems integrate with flight controllers and support autonomous flights across challenging terrain, including low-visual-diversity environments, without operator communication or beacons.
