The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own and contribute across a large software system that spans edge devices, backend services, user interfaces and machine learning models. Take work from requirements capture through implementation, testing and deployment, partnering closely with engineers and the operations staff who use the software day to day.
What you'll do
- Build and ship software across edge components, backend services, web interfaces and AI-driven features.
- Own large portions of the product lifecycle, from gathering requirements to testing and deployment.
- Work side by side with engineers and on-site staff to understand their workflows and turn them into software.
- Learn new digital, physical and human systems quickly and build tools that make them more efficient.
- Spend regular time at production sites to see how the software is used.
- Help establish engineering practices in a lean team with a high bar for quality, ownership and speed.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, with practical experience in Python and a modern web framework.
- A server-side engineering background that includes some exposure to devices or systems close to hardware.
- Experience at an organization with a rigorous engineering bar, such as a large technology company or a well-regarded startup.
- A computer science degree or equivalent strong technical training.
- Eligibility to work on export-controlled projects as a US citizen or green card holder.
- Willingness to work on site five days a week and to travel up to 20% of the time.
Bonus points
- Hands-on exposure to work involving physical equipment or industrial settings.
- Active security clearance.
- UX design or product management experience alongside a software engineering background.
- Background as a teaching assistant in a quantitative subject.

- Base salary: USD 200,000 to 250,000 per year
