Role Summary
We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to build and maintain web applications across our modern stack. In this role, you will implement user-facing features, develop robust Python/FastAPI services, write comprehensive tests, and deploy containerized services via GitLab CI to our bare-metal infrastructure under the guidance of senior technical leads.
Key Responsibilities
Feature Development: Build and maintain end-to-end features across web interfaces and backend services.
API Implementation: Develop, document, and consume secure, performant REST APIs.
Database & Migrations: Write optimized SQL queries, implement schema updates, and manage migrations using Alembic.
Testing & Quality: Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability and stability.
CI/CD & Deployment: Package applications using Docker and assist in managing build/deploy pipelines using GitLab CI for bare-metal servers.
Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, peer code reviews, and cross-functional technical planning.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
Experience: 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience building and deploying web applications.
Backend: Hands-on experience developing web services with Python, FastAPI, and database migrations using Alembic.
Frontend: Working experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred; Vue or Angular acceptable) and client-side routing (React Router preferred; Next.js acceptable).
Databases: Solid understanding of SQL fundamentals, relational schemas, and data manipulation.
APIs: Practical experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
DevOps: Working knowledge of containerization using Docker and basic Linux server navigation.
CI/CD & Version Control: Proficiency with Git and experience working with GitLab / GitLab CI pipelines.
Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests (e.g., Pytest, Jest).
Observability: Familiarity with application logging, basic monitoring, and debugging in production environments.
Process: Experience working collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred)
Caching: Exposure to Redis for caching or session management.
Target Database: Practical experience with PostgreSQL.
Event-Driven Concepts: Basic familiarity with message brokers or asynchronous task queues.
Alternative Backends: Exposure to Go or TypeScript (Node.js).
Alternative Protocols: Familiarity with gRPC, GraphQL, or SOAP.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Two years of professional software development experience
- Knowledge of C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core Web API
- Basic understanding of React, TypeScript, and JavaScript ES6+
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL fundamentals
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Entity Framework Core or LINQ
- Basic understanding of Git and version control workflows

What We Do
Misr Technology Services (MTS) has been established as an Egyptian joint stock company. The shareholders’ structure consists of the “Ministry of Finance”, the Egyptian Company for the Management of Financial Facilities “eFinance”, the “National Investment Bank”, the “Egyptian Company for Investment Projects”, and “Amiral Management Corporation”. MTS is the technical arm of the Ministry of Finance in the field of customs and its relationship with taxes. Misr Technology Services (MTS) was awarded a contract with the Ministry of Finance to “enhance the current trade across borders system in Egypt using “Single Window” concept”. The project was code named “NAFEZA”. NAFEZA System is a platform upon which an integrated set of business applications operates to automate & orchestrate import/export/transit cargo clearance activities from cargo arrival to cargo clearance using a “Single Window” concept. With the project extension to implement “Advance Cargo Information“ concept to control the importation process prior to loading shipments from the countries of export, NAFEZA System currently controls the importation process end-to-end. In this regard, NAFEZA System represents the single point facility for Egyptian importers, exporters, brokers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders (Trade Community) to submit electronic data/documents and/or lodge data to Customs remotely in a secure manner. It also represents the only façade for communication between the Trade Community and the designated government authorities operating inside and/or outside the port (Government). This is achieved using online services on NAFEZA portal. Furthermore, NAFEZA provides customers services through a network of Logistic Services Centers which MTS established at the ports.
