OUR  MISSION

We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.

Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.

As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.

Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Software Engineer working on Thyme Box, you will be a key part of our ever-growing technical team developing our proprietary internal care management platform. Thyme Box is the primary tool that enables 600+ Care Team members to deliver clinical and non-clinical navigation services to members every day.

Additionally, you will:

  • Connect with and add to our collaborative, agile team and quickly develop a deep understanding of our tech stack.
  • Wrap your head around Thyme Care’s business model and success metrics, and develop a deep empathy for the challenges our clinical care team faces in supporting members.
  • Independently plan, build, and deliver multiple features within the Thyme Box product, from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Partner closely with Product to scope experiments and shape new product ideas that improve outcomes for our members.
  • Play a key role in building the technology that enables our care team to surface ancillary benefit programs and services more efficiently.
  • Help create an intuitive user interface that allows our care team to triage patient touch points, from hospitalizations to changes in chemotherapy.
  • Integrate and surface data from multiple sources to give the care team timely, actionable insights into their patients’ needs.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE

  • You have 3+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting software in production.
  • You’ve worked in fast-paced, early stage environments. You’re comfortable iterating quickly to make decisions and deliver value to users.
  • You have strong experience with web development. You’ve built single-page applications in stacks similar to ours: Vue.js/TypeScript, FastAPI/Python, and Postgres.
  • You’ve taken ownership of features from idea to production, including design, implementation, testing, and ongoing improvements.
  • You’ve collaborated closely with engineers, product, and cross-functional partners, and can clearly communicate technical tradeoffs and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have, but not required:

  • You’ve used and contributed to AI tooling that supports developer productivity, code quality, and engineering best practices.
  • You have prior experience working in healthcare or health tech.

WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS

Curiosity. You have a drive to understand how things work and love sharing that knowledge with others. (Find out more about our engineering team’s culture of learning here!)
Comfort with ambiguity.  You feel excited about working in fast-paced environments, and ambitious startups. You know to expect ambiguity and ever-changing priorities, and feel up for the challenge.
Collaboration. You know that building great products requires a great team. You enjoy working with and learning from your colleagues, both technical and non-technical alike.
People-first. Thyme Care’s mission and members matter to you, deeply.
Commitment to inclusivity. You care deeply about building an inclusive culture at Thyme Care. You recognize a history of inequity in tech and believe that we must build a team that reflects the diversity of the population we serve.

OUR VALUES

At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don’t choose.

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $153,000-$170,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level.

We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal-opportunity employer.

What We Do

Imagine building a better healthcare journey for cancer patients, where individuals and their loved ones feel seen, supported, and heard by their care team – both in and out of the clinic. Where fast access to high-quality care is the norm, not the exception. Where patients have access to a care navigator to guide them through their diagnosis and trusted support all along the way.

At Thyme Care, we share a passion for transforming the cancer care experience – not just for our members but also for their caregivers and loved ones, as well as those delivering and paying for their care. Today, Thyme Care is known predominantly as a cancer care navigation company enabling value-based cancer care; in the next few years, we will become a nationally recognized technology-driven and provider-centric care delivery model, reshaping the landscape of cancer care access, delivery, and experience. Our commitment runs deep—we're not satisfied with the status quo but determined to redefine it.

To make this happen, we’re building a diverse team of problem solvers and critical thinkers to drive innovation and shape the future of healthcare. If you share our vision and want to be part of something truly meaningful, we want to hear from you. Together, we can revolutionize cancer care and make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

Why Work With Us

We’re a team of seasoned oncology and technology experts, big thinkers, and creative problem solvers. Together, we’re challenging the status quo and improving the cancer journey through the power of technology, innovative partnerships, fresh thinking, and deep human connections.
