A Software Engineer in Test is responsible of ensuring the highest quality the highest quality of product is delivered. This role primarily focuses on building testing strategies and frameworks to improve coverage and rapid regression testing including designing test plans, bug reporting and tools development.

Responsiblities

  • Review product specifications and technical design documents to create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Working independently, estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities with different teams
  • Capable to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using any open source tools such as Cucumber and Mocha
  • Identify and document defects using Jira, Asana or similar tools
  • Perform regression testing when bugs are resolved and prior to releases
  • Continuously identify risks and solutions to improve team process and product quality
  • Help define standards and best practices for testing and automation
  • Thrive in a startup environment who can adopt new technologies with minimal guidance and capable to work independently
  • Passionate about solving difficult technical problems and building quality products

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Quality Assurance or relevant experience is required
  • Experience with QA techniques including black box, white box approaches for smoke, regression, functional, user acceptance testing
  • Familiarity or experience working with automation
  • Extensive knowledge in API testing and web testing
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced IT environment
  • Must be a self-starter able to take initiative and collaborate on a distributed team
  • Outstanding time management and prioritization
  • Knowledge of Jira, Git, GitHub and other debugging tools
  • JavaScript experience is preferred
