Job SummaryPyyne is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in Python to work remotely from Brazil or Argentina on a custom AI intelligence tool for a US-based client. This is a high-impact role for Pyyne as we find new ways to engineer thoughtful, AI-powered solutions.
A successful candidate in this role will work alongside a senior engineer, take ownership of well-scoped work with some autonomy, and keep the client regularly informed by shipping small, visible increments and communicating proactively.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve Python features and services for a custom AI intelligence solution.
Collaborate day to day with a senior engineer who built his solution, with their guidance on architecture and technical direction.
Ship small, well-tested changes on a regular cadence and make progress visible to the team and the client.
Take part in frequent syncs and proactively share status updates, risks, and blockers.
Adapt quickly as client priorities change.
Support the LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) components of the solution as the work requires.
Must Have Skills:
2+ years of professional experience with Python.
Hands-on experience with async Python (asyncio) and building REST APIs (FastAPI or similar).
Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL and an ORM (e.g., SQLAlchemy), including schema migrations.
Experience writing automated tests (pytest).
Comfortable with Git.
Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks and ask for help when needed.
Clear, proactive communication and a delivery mindset: you ship small things regularly and make progress visible.
Highly fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with LLMs and RAG (embeddings, vector search, reranking, prompt design), including from personal projects.
Familiarity with pgvector or other vector databases.
Comfortable with Docker and deploying to a cloud provider (AWS preferred).
Experience with message queues and background workers (e.g., SQS).
Infrastructure as code (Terraform).
