Software Engineer (Node.js)

We offer a state-of-the-art iGaming platform, turnkey solutions, and standalone products that allow operators to enter or expand into emerging markets quickly and easily.

WA Platform is a fully scalable and customizable solution, featuring over 75+ game providers, 15.000+ games, and multi-currency support with 80+ payment methods. WA Technology enables operators to build their own Casino, Sportsbook, Lottery and Fantasy business precisely how they envision it. We have offices across Europe and Latin America, supporting our clients with on-the-ground presence and regional expertise.

We currently have teams based in Malta, Lisbon (PT), Sofia (BG), London (UK) and Bucharest (RO). Our hybrid work model encourages regular in-person collaboration while also allowing flexibility to work remotely.

We are looking for a skilled mid-level Node.js Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our backoffice platform. In this role, you will ensure the system’s usability, responsive design, and seamless integration with backend services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that support the company’s operational needs.

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other developers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure Node.js applications, with a strong focus on backoffice functionality.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-structured code following industry standards and best practices.

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to ensure smooth communication between front-end and backend systems.

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and optimization to ensure reliability, performance, and seamless user experience.
  Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to increase system performance and maintainability.

• Stay up to date with modern Node.js and backend development trends, tools, and technologies.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support team collaboration and growth.
  

• 3+ years of experience as a Node.js developer or similar with a strong understanding of OOP principles.

• Strong understanding of Node.js and modern backend development practices.

• Hands-on experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks.

• Experience working with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and integration with frontend or backoffice interfaces.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

• Practical experience with databases such as SQL, MongoDB, or Redis, including schema design and optimization.

• Good understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and API performance.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.

• Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable for delivering high-quality results.
