Radiant is an El-Segundo, CA-based clean energy startup building a nuclear microreactor. A climate-friendly alternative to diesel generators, Radiant's Kaleidos 1MW microreactor will be the world's first portable, zero-emissions power source that works anywhere. Software Engineer - New Graduate
Radiant is seeking a driven Software Engineer – New Grad with a strong computer science background. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and nuclear teams to develop software that keeps simulation and analysis for reactor design, development, and maintenance running smoothly. You will have an opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment with a high degree of ownership and drive milestones forward to unlock commercialization of the first mass-produced nuclear reactor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create tooling to support simulation software – internal and from third party vendors.
- Own several internal software products that support mission-critical analysis.
- Lead the development of production software to support data storage and automation of manufactured parts.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, or other technical discipline.
- Familiarity with Python, C++, C#, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Familiarity with software development and documentation best-practices, including version control in Git.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Highly self-motivated with strong communication skills.
- Experience writing or contributing to simulation tools.
- Experience testing software and hardware systems.
- Experience with distributed software development and familiarity with common design patterns.
- Interest in physics, hardware and electrical engineering.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to achieve company goals.
- Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
