What You Will Do:
As a Software Engineer Level 3 at Independent Software, you will design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting mission-critical operations. You will work with Java-based applications, distributed systems, databases, and containerized environments to develop scalable and reliable software solutions.
You will collaborate with technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide technical leadership to ensure software quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and integrate distributed applications using MongoDB, Kafka, and JMS.
- Deploy and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, software integration, and automated testing.
- Analyze requirements, develop software solutions, and troubleshoot application defects.
- Design and implement database interfaces, queries, and complex algorithms.
- Lead software development activities, conduct code reviews, and ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with system engineers and technical teams to support integration, deployment, and documentation.

Education and Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus twelve (12) years of Software Engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; OR
- Sixteen (16) years of relevant Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role

Skills Required
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Go.
- Experience with software development methodologies, software design principles, and the SDLC.
- Experience troubleshooting software defects and performing root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
