About the Team

This role is part of the FIS API Gateway platform engineering team. The API Gateway serves as the entry point to the serverless revolution, enabling customers to transform business logic and application code into scalable, fault-tolerant production systems without requiring every developer to master deployment technologies and infrastructure management.

The API Gateway simplifies complex tasks such as traffic management, authentication and authorization, monitoring, and API versioning into easily configurable steps. Our team manages infrastructure that supports thousands of APIs and processes millions of API transactions daily.

What you will be doing

• Oversee and maintain API Gateway infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.

• Handle installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting for the API Gateway platform.

• Automate and enhance API pipeline scripts to support extensive API publishing on the platform.

• Create and monitor alerts using Splunk and Thousand Eyes tools.

• Engage in performance tuning activities and seek opportunities to enhance platform performance.

• Collaborate with product managers and users to define system requirements and necessary modifications.

What you bring

• Typically requires 5 + years related experience

• Over 2 years of experience with API Gateway Management, Cloud technologies, virtualization platforms, and containers such as Docker, AKS, EKS, etc.

• Experienced with the KONG or any Service Mess Platform.

• Relevant experience in a Cloud Admin or similar role, including working with Microsoft Azure services like Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Web Apps, AKS, Key Vaults, etc.

• Strong understanding of continuous integration/delivery practices and other DevOps concepts.

• Familiar with the Agile software development model.

• Skilled in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.

Bonus if you have

• Programming language: Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.

• Scripting: Bash, Groovy.

• Deployment Cycle: Jenkins, Git.

• Framework: Spring.

• API Gateway: Experience with Wso2 and KONG API Management platform.

• Cloud Technology: AWS Public Cloud, Azure Public Cloud, Harness, Terraform, Harness.io.
