Tower Research Capital, a quantitative proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern in New York to join our Ventures organization. As a member of Tower’s Ventures team, a SWE Intern will be working closely with our investment team to build prototypes for new products that Tower can launch as standalone businesses. Note that the Ventures team is separate from our Core Engineering team or any of our quantitative trading teams.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and deploying fullstack application prototypes for potential incubations or spinouts
- Developing data pipelines for our private investment research and opportunities
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices
- Assisting in identifying and solving technical challenges as they arise
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s student, ideally 2nd or 3rd year
- Majoring in computer science
- Seeking a 3-month internship
- Proficient in fullstack programming languages (Python, Typescript, Javascript, etc)
- Familiar with machine learning, data analysis, market research, and data modeling (a plus)
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- A passion for new technologies and ideas
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- A general interest in startups, venture capital, and new business opportunities
Anticipated New York weekly base salary range $1,300-$1,500
