Software Engineer – Intern (Fall 2026)
As a paid Software Engineering Intern at DefenseStorm, you’ll get hands-on experience building new features for the GRID Active Risk Assessment Platform. You’ll work alongside senior engineers to develop scalable, user-friendly solutions using modern web technologies. It’s a great opportunity to sharpen your skills in both backend and frontend development while collaborating with a fast-moving Agile team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop new full-stack features in support of the product roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test scalable cloud-native solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code and automated tests.
- Contribute to our AI harnesses to advance AI adoption in our SDLC and products.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience with a compiled object-oriented backend programming language and a modern front-end framework.
- Understanding microservice architecture and distributed application design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively on a team.
- Experience using AI tools to plan and implement projects.
- Are currently enrolled in a 4 year STEM degree program.
- Experience working with Angular, Java, AWS, Docker, Elastic, PostgreSQL, REST and GitHub Actions
