Who We Need 

Truveta is rapidly building a talented and diverse engineering team to solve complex healthcare and technology challenges. We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong interest in infrastructure services, cloud-native platforms, and open-source technologies. This role is ideal for engineers who want to develop, maintain, and operate scalable infrastructure services using technologies such as Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and Microsoft Azure. You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, security teams, and product engineering teams to help build the infrastructure that powers Truveta’s healthcare data platform.

  • In this role, you will help develop and operate cloud-native infrastructure services that support Truveta’s platform. You will work on container orchestration, service mesh, API gateway infrastructure, workflow orchestration, platform automation, observability, reliability, and security across Azure-based environments.
  • This opportunity requires strong software engineering fundamentals, curiosity for open-source technologies, creative problem solving, and a desire to build reliable infrastructure systems at scale. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Develop, maintain, and operate cloud-native infrastructure services that support Truveta’s healthcare data platform. 
  • Work with Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and reliable workloads. 
  • Build and maintain platform capabilities using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and related cloud-native tools. 
  • Support infrastructure and platform services running on Microsoft Azure. 
  • Contribute to automation, tooling, and operational improvements that increase engineering productivity and platform reliability. 
  • Help implement observability practices including logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting. 
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution. 
  • Collaborate with product engineers, security teams, architects, and senior engineers to deliver reliable infrastructure capabilities. 
  • Write clean, maintainable code and configuration for infrastructure services, automation, and platform tooling. 
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, deployment guidance, and operational best practices. 
  • Learn and apply cloud-native engineering practices across security, reliability, scalability, and performance. 

Key Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 2+ years of software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience. 
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or operating cloud-based infrastructure or platform services. 
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native application deployment. 
  • Familiarity with open-source infrastructure technologies such as service mesh, API gateways, workflow orchestration, or container orchestration platforms. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or a strong interest in building infrastructure on Azure. 
  • Understanding of CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and operational best practices. 
  • Basic understanding of networking, security, identity, access control, and distributed systems concepts. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new cloud-native and open-source technologies. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and Azure services. 
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Kong, Conductor, or similar open-source platform technologies. 
  • Experience developing automation or tooling using C#, .NET, Go, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages. 
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, deployment automation, GitOps, or CI/CD systems. 
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and service health monitoring. 
  • Experience operating production infrastructure or participating in on-call support. 
  • Interest in contributing to open-source projects or prior experience committing to open-source repositories. 
  • Experience working with healthcare, data platforms, analytics platforms, or regulated environments. 
  • Interest in building reliable infrastructure that improves healthcare outcomes and helps save lives with data. 

Skills Required
