What we’re hiring for:
We are a growing fintech organization looking to add a Software Engineer to our Sustaining Engineering Team based in Chennai, India.
You will be responsible for corrective and preventative maintenance, performance improvement, enhancing resiliency, and delivering new functionality on our payments platform. As a Software Engineer at E6, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous improvement, usability, and reliability of our software systems.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Developing a deep understanding of software complexity, key design patterns, and distributed systems, making wee-informed software design trade-offs.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues through collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders, prioritizing customer success as the primary objective.
- Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to address complex business issues and actively contribute to the creation of effective solutions.
- Conduct debugging, root cause analysis, and implement software fixes and patches to align with business requirements.
- Manage customer escalations, troubleshoot production issues, and accurately reproduce reported issues to ensure swift resolution.
- Advocate and drive the adoption of modern software development practices, fostering continuous improvement in the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Drive initiatives to elevate reliability and quality, utilizing quality metrics data for informed decision-making.
- Develop processes and tools to support internal teams in promptly resolving customer issues.
What experiences and skills are necessary to be successful in this role:
- Have 4+ years of experience working as a Java developer in Java Enterprise software development.
- Proficiency in Java Lambdas, Generics, and data structures such as Map, List, and Set.
- Strong skills debugging, root cause analysis, profiling, analyzing Java thread dumps.
- Experience with concurrent Java programming knowledge, including knowledge of Actor Model, Java CompletableFuture, and various types of thread pool Executors.
- Familiarity with commonly used software Design Patterns and strong algorithm knowledge.
- Experience with Spring Framework or an equivalent Java application framework.
- Experience with Hibernate or equivalent JPA frameworks.
- Proficiency in RESTful API development.
- Demonstrated ability to identify database performance improvements, covering both relational databases (preferably MySQL) and the NoSQL database Cassandra.
- Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
- Knowledge of Groovy scripting language is a plus.
