As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML & DATA PLATFORMS team, you will design and deliver scalable ServiceNow solutions that support our business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical outcomes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules
- Develop scalable solutions using ServiceNow best practices and platform capabilities
- Write and maintain code using JavaScript and the Glide library
- Create and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, ACLs, Scheduled Jobs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Workflows
- Build custom applications using App Engine Studio and ServiceNow Studio
- Develop Scripted REST APIs, REST integrations, MID Server integrations, and third-party system interfaces
- Implement and customize ITSM, HRSD, CSM, CMDB, and Service Portal/Employee Center solutions
- Develop Catalog Items, Record Producers, Order Guides, and complex catalog workflows
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Configure Notifications, Email Scripts, SLAs, Approval Workflows, and Knowledge Management
- Design and optimize CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping implementations
- Troubleshoot platform issues, optimize performance, and lead upgrade planning, clone management, and instance governance
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proven experience designing and developing ServiceNow applications and modules
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes)
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform features such as Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and App Engine Studio
- Experience implementing and customizing ITSM, HRSD, CSM, CMDB, and Service Portal/Employee Center
- Ability to develop and maintain REST integrations and third-party system interfaces
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with code reviews and enforcing development standards
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
- Experience collaborating with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
