As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives
Job Responsibilities
- Review business requirements and use BDD to create clear, testable scenarios.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, Developers, and global teams.
- Build, automate, and integrate test suites-including API tests-into CI/CD pipelines.
- Use cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for testing and deployment.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing to complement automation.
- Use Git for code reviews, branching, and tracking code quality.
- Track and report bugs clearly using tools like JIRA.
- Prioritize and run regression tests based on risk.
- Read application code to help with debugging and writing tests.
- Foster excellence, innovation, and ongoing improvement in quality assurance practices.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright) and scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Experience in working with CI/CD pipelines such as AWS CodePipeline and Jenkins.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- ISEB or ISTQB certification.
