We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, reliable solutions and AI workflows; perform analysis and derive insights to optimize business outcomes.
- Communicate designs, trade-offs, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Build and operate on AWS using services such as S3, RDS, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions, MSK, ECS, RDS and EKS architectures.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to deliver high-quality, production-grade solutions.
- Take end-to-end ownership of deliverables; work independently to drive assignments to completion without unnecessary escalation.
- Operate as a Python-first engineer with Java skillset—able to read, debug, maintain, and enhance Java-based services and integrations supporting the platform.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong Python skills for AI/data processing and production engineering (performance, reliability, testing, and maintainability).
- Proficiency with GenAI models (e.g., OpenAI) to solve business problems.
- Experience with LLM orchestration, AI usage patterns, agentic frameworks, and MCP servers.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, clear stakeholder communication, rapid POC-to-production execution, and mentoring/coaching ability.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Proficiency in all other AWS components—preferably AWS certified.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models into data pipelines is a plus.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Skills Required
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of applied experience in data science, machine learning, or related areas
- Strong Python skills with PySpark, Spark SQL, and Datagrams for large-scale data processing
- Proficiency with GenAI models (e.g., OpenAI) including RAG/fine-tuning when appropriate
- Experience with LLM orchestration, building AI agents, agentic frameworks, and MCP servers
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency/security expectations
- Databricks expertise building and managing data lakes and end-to-end data processing workflows
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, reliable data processing pipelines and ML operations
- Experience with AWS services: S3, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions, MSK, EKS, and Data Lake architectures
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, stakeholder communication, rapid POC-to-production delivery, and mentoring abilities
- Proficiency in all other AWS components and preferably AWS certified
