Job Summary
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within Consumer & Community Banking Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions and break down complex problems
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met through disciplined engineering practices
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Collaborate with user experience and user interface designers and product owners to translate wireframes and requirements into production-ready code
- Rapidly prototype features and concepts to gather user feedback and iterate before full-scale development
- Review and debug code to uphold best practices in quality, accessibility, performance, and maintainability
- Stay current with emerging user interface technologies and industry trends, and champion adoption where they improve outcomes
- Add to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
- Knowledge of GraphQL for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) content fragments and headless delivery
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services
- Testing expertise with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress or Playwright
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile delivery practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with AI-driven development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurfer, or similar platforms
