Role Overview
PDI Technologies is seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Software Engineer III to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of our software applications and engineering processes. Operating at the intersection of engineering innovation and business impact, this role supports the backbone of PDI’s productivity-focused solutions for the convenience retail and petroleum wholesale industries.
The Software Engineer III will be responsible for executing and guiding complex engineering tasks across the full software development lifecycle—including application development, testing, process design, and product maintenance. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while mentoring less experienced engineers. The ideal candidate will contribute to system architecture decisions, engage cross-functionally with Product and DevOps teams, and ensure delivery of scalable, high-quality software aligned to business goals.
Required Experience
- Strong proficiency in C++, with experience building and maintaining complex software systems.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, memory management, and multi-threaded programming in a Windows environment.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE for C++ development.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for source control (Git), work tracking, and build pipelines.
- 5-9 years’ experience designing and developing new or maintaining existing
- software applications in a software product development environment. 2+ years of practical experience with Agile development methodologies
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level of Experience
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year of experience serving as a technical team lead preferred
- Experience with .NET and C#, particularly for tooling or integration tasks.
- Knowledge of SQL for data access and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with the Qt framework for cross-platform GUI or application development.
