As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Employee Platform Technology team, you will design and deliver high-quality software solutions that support the firm's internal employee experience. You will work in an agile environment, contributing to the development of innovative features, AI-powered tools, and cloud platform integrations. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems used by employees across the organization. Job responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end software solutions including design, development, and technical troubleshooting across the full software development lifecycle
  • Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems
  • Contribute to architecture and design artifacts for applications, ensuring that software code development meets established design constraints
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize large, diverse data sets to develop visualizations and reporting that drive continuous improvement of software applications
  • Design and implement AI-powered features and agentic workflows that enhance employee-facing platforms
  • Develop and optimize cloud-native integrations on AWS to support scalable and resilient platform capabilities
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Hands-on experience with Python and AI coding assistants in a professional development environment
  • Working knowledge of AI agents and agentic flows, including design and implementation patterns
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large-scale environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, including continuous integration and delivery, application resiliency, and security principles
  • Practical cloud-native experience with AWS, including deployment and integration of cloud-based services
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks
  • Experience working with relational or non-relational databases in a production environment
  • Proficiency with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot for back-end service development
