As a Software Engineer focused on Fantasy Sports you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for ESPN.com. You will be a member of a team building the world's #1 fantasy sports products working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and sophisticated solutions for new product features and core site architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in relevant industry experience
  • Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
  • Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass) a plus


Preferred Qualifications

  • Build templates and modules that are used by millions of fans
  • Develop and enhance core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript
  • Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
  • Work with product and project management to refine specs and timelines
  • Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions
  • Driven and self-motivated


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.


The hiring range for this position in California is $112,600 - $151,000 per year and in New York is $118,000 - $158,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
