As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that support aerospace applications. You will work on innovative projects that enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of aerospace systems.
You will report directly to our Space Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Moca, Puerto Rico location on an On-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of critical aerospace software components that enable advanced aircraft systems and improve overall flight experience and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, test, and maintain software components for aerospace systems in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems engineers, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration and high-quality deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to enhance software performance and reliability.
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded or aerospace software environments
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C and C++ with experience in software lifecycle processes
- Familiarity with hardware-software integration and debugging tools to ensure system reliability and performance
- Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded software development is highly desirable
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience working in aerospace or defense industries with knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
- Proficiency with software development tools such as version control systems, build systems, and continuous integration
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of model-based design and simulation tools is a plus
