Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II, you'll help design, build, and deliver innovative software solutions that drive business success. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle. You will also gather requirements and design solutions to develop, test, deploy, and support applications. You'll translate business needs into technical solutions, evaluate and implement emerging technologies, and write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that delivers reliable, scalable, and high-quality software. 

Here is more of what you’ll get to do: 

• Extract data from external formats, translate it into the internal format and load them to the production environment (ETL).  
• Design, develop, document, test, and deploy new and existing software applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use.  
• Serve as technical expert on development projects.  
• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
• 3-5+ years web development experience 
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communication using technical/specific terminology 
• Independent judgement and problem solving of complex problems

• Exhibits a friendly and helpful manner and can work under self-direction or as part of team 
• Serve as technical expert on client meetings as needed

• Intermediate understanding of programming techniques independent of programming languages.

• Intermediate experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL). 
• Intermediate experience with REST and web services. 
• Intermediate understanding of MVC, MVVM, CQRS, and Repository Pattern. 
• Experience with source/version control (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, TFS, or other similar tools). 
• Experience with Agile development. 
• Understanding of data flow across multiple integrated systems 
• Maintain and enhance legacy codebases while ensuring backward compatibility 
• Proficiency in debugging complex issues across distributed systems 
• Work with external vendor APIs to extract, transform, and validate data from various formats 
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a mixed mode (onsite, remote or hybrid) environment, including consistent use of video conferencing, collaboration tools, and proactive communication practices while maintaining a professional on-camera presence. 

Preferred 

• Intermediate experience with Angular and jQuery. 
• Strong web development skills including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and core client-side libraries. 
• Experience with continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity, or other similar tools) 
• Experience with continuous delivery (e.g., OctopusDeploy)
