Software Engineer II

SUMMARY

Provide mid-level software engineer support for Navy mission systems. Develop and sustain applications used in operational readiness, training, and logistics. Ensure compliance with Fleet Training and Management Support (FTM) data interfaces and DoD cybersecurity controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices, APIs, and user interfaces supporting fleet training workflows and readiness analytics.

· Integrate applications with FTM data sources; implement role-based access and audit logging.

· Write unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.

· Produce technical documentation and contribute to configuration management baselines.

· Support Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment tasks (STIGs, HBSS/ESS, SCAP scans).

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, with three (3) to five (5) years of software development experience.

· Proficient in one or more of the following: Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL.

· Experience with REST/GraphQL, containers (Docker), and Git.

· Familiarity with DoD RMF, STIGs, and secure coding practices.

· Experience producing status reports, staffing plans, and risk communications.

· Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (generally, U.S. citizenship required).

· Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Cloud fluency (AWS or Azure), including certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner

· Experience supporting Department of War or comparable federal agency or systems

· Kubernetes, message queues, ETL for FTM-aligned data, ELK/Splunk, Jira/Confluence

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse. Seeing up close, must not be color blind. Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: 110,000-120,000 annually
