As a Software Engineer II - Java Full Stack Developer + AWS + AI at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you'll be a part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
Applies practical experience of Agile software methodologies
Proficiency in one or more programming languages like java or python
Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
Proficiency in using AI for tech tools(copilot, LLM, calude code etc) for SDLC
Experience in frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.js, Angular
Experience building cloud native or cloud ready applications using AWS
Exposure to Container technologies like Kubernetes
Executes standard software solutions, design, development, testing, and deployment
Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Applies technical skills to break down solutions and solve technical problems
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
Hands on Experience in Java, Front End, AWS, AI tools and Platform or Product Development
Exposure to tools related to CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
Exposure to microservice architecture
Experience in using AI productivity tools like co-pilot, LLM ,Claude code
Experience in prompt engineering, proficiency in developmental toolsets and Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline, specifically building out cloud native solutions (AWS).
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, and testing
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals and Passionate about building an innovative culture

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science engineering or equivalent
