CMT is seeking a Software Engineer to help our team produce scalable software solutions to reliably collect and manage data from sensors on smartphones and connected devices in vehicles. In this role, you will design architecture, build front end applications, and build features and applications that meet the needs of our customers. CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Software Engineer II, Cloud who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with development teams and product managers to brainstorm software solutions
- Design both client-side and server-side architectures
- Create visually appealing front-end applications
- Develop and maintain efficient databases and applications
- Create effective APIs
- Perform software testing to ensure performance and responsiveness
- Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance software
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Design mobile-responsive features and applications
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in web application development
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building software systems
- Experience designing and deploying backend systems end-to-end
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React or Angular
- Experience building RESTful APIs and full-stack web applications
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Django, APIs, and databases
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred); Terraform is a plus
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and learn new technologies quickly
Nice to Haves:
- Understanding of web security and session management
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics and analytics tools
