About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Automotive HIL Test Engineer with strong expertise in ECU validation, HIL testing, and test automation. The role focuses on validating Body, Comfort, and Lighting ECUs using HIL systems and simulation environments, ensuring high-quality software delivery through robust testing, automation, and defect management processes.
What You Will Do
- Identify, analyze, and report software and hardware defects in automotive ECUs
- Perform system-level validation using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and simulation
- Execute and automate test cases for Body and Comfort ECUs, including lighting systems
- Work with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS (ISO 14229), and Ethernet
- Develop and execute automated HIL test scripts using dSPACE environments
- Work with HIL automation tools such as ProveTech and AutomationDesk
- Create test specifications based on system requirements and participate in peer reviews
- Perform validation using Vector tools (CANoe) and VN hardware
- Track, analyze, and report test results and defects, ensuring high test coverage and quality
- Collaborate with internal MBRDI teams and partners to improve testing processes and delivery efficiency

- Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Exposure to German language (basic proficiency)
- Experience in tracking project metrics and KPIs

What Makes You Eligible
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications, or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in the Automotive domain, working on ECU software and hardware validation
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and testing processes
- Hands-on experience across the complete lifecycle of 1 to 3 HIL testing projects
- Knowledge of IBM DOORS Next Generation and PREEvision
- Exposure to configuration and project management tools such as SVN and JIRA
- Proficiency with Vector tools including CANoe and VN hardware (VN1610, VN1611, VN1630A, VN5650)
- Experience in HIL automation using dSPACE-based environments
- Scripting experience in CAPL, Python, Visual Basic (VB), or C#
