About the roleAs a Frontend Software Engineer at Wallester, you will own the user-facing systems that power our fintech platform.
Our frontend engineers are not just feature implementers - they design, build, and evolve complex applications used by thousands of customers. You will shape technical solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure high standards of performance, reliability, and security in a regulated environment.
This role involves full lifecycle ownership: from understanding product requirements and UX constraints to implementation, testing, deployment, and long-term maintainability.
Depending on your experience and impact, you will contribute to or lead frontend architecture initiatives and help drive engineering standards across the team.
At Wallester, frontend engineers are system owners. They build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable web applications that directly impact customer experience. You will take full ownership of the features and modules you work on - from idea to production. This includes understanding business and UX requirements, designing technical solutions, implementing them with high quality, and ensuring they perform reliably in production. Specifically, you will:
- Own frontend features end-to-end - from technical design to deployment and continuous improvement
- Design and evolve scalable frontend architecture and state management solutions
- Implement complex user-facing flows with strong focus on performance, accessibility, and usability
- Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Drive frontend best practices, standards, and tooling improvements
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver cohesive solutions
- Debug and resolve production issues, taking responsibility for frontend reliability
- Identify and address technical debt proactively
We expect all engineers - mid and senior - to demonstrate ownership, initiative, and technical leadership within their scope. Senior-level engineers additionally:
- Lead frontend architectural decisions and cross-team technical initiatives
- Define and evolve frontend technical standards and long-term direction
- Mentor other frontend engineers and raise the technical bar
- Drive complex, high-impact initiatives with minimal supervision
We’re looking for engineers who care deeply about user experience, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
You likely have:
- 3+ years of professional frontend or full-stack experience (5+ years typically for senior level)
- Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Solid production experience building applications with React
- Strong understanding of state management and component-based architectures
- Experience integrating with REST APIs
- Experience working in agile development environments
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion
Beyond technical skills, we expect you to:
- Take ownership of frontend modules and features end-to-end
- Be comfortable contributing to architectural decisions
- Drive improvements in frontend standards, testing, and tooling
- Care about performance, accessibility, and security
- Take responsibility for the reliability of frontend systems in production
For Senior-Level Candidates, we additionally expect:
- Experience designing scalable frontend architectures
- Strong frontend testing strategy knowledge
- Experience mentoring engineers
- Ability to drive technical decisions under ambiguity
- Experience working with Effector or similar state management libraries
- Experience working with complex design systems or UI libraries
- Experience improving frontend observability and performance monitoring
- Experience working in fintech or other regulated industries
- Knowledge of frontend security best practices
- Experience with internationalization and localization
- Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy frontend codebases
- Experience contributing to internal frontend standards or shared libraries
