Job Description

The vacancy is a new position for a Business Application Specialist of our Cognos ecosystem: IBM Planning Analytics (a.k.a. TM1), IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), IBM Cognos Analytics, Cognos Disclosure Management (CDM), IBM Controller and a few more both for internal and external integrations with on-premise and cloud applications and environments. We keep the Cognos ecosystem applications up to date and update them at least once a year to the newest versions. You will be the main application specialist of the Cognos ecosystem, both supporting, developing and leading projects. Most of your time you will be spending on improving and developing TI processes and rules of our Planning Analytics model.

To handle issues and plan our work, we use Jira (with weekly sprints), ClickUp and Slack channels. Mostly you will work in Polish, however rarely (about a few times a month) there will be a meeting, user’s issue or case to face with using English only.

We are looking for a specialist who:

  • Has experience in supporting, developing and managing Cognos ecosystems applications
  • Has understanding of accounting, controlling, treasury and financial consolidation processes
  • Has worked with many TM1 instances at once and can process data between them and different environments
  • Has experience in leading projects and change requests
  • Has experience in analysis of data from SQL databases and do CRUD on them
  • Has knowledge about user security management
  • Is familiar with Planning Analytics, CDM and Controller issues
  • Takes responsibility for their topics, pay attention to details, are independent and well organized
  • Shows initiative and dynamism in action, they can prioritize tasks
  • Speaks English at work to discuss at meetings about users’ cases (B2 level at least)

As a specialist, within the Cognos ecosystem you will:

  • From the technical side: work closely with such applications like SAP, Teta HR and SmartRecruiters (our HRIS), Google Workspace (including Google Cloud Platform projects), GitHub, SQL databases (MS SQL, Oracle, BigQuery, Snowflake), TIBCO (our enterprise service bus, ESB) and Salesforce CRM. You will be taking care of business data and its flow within both production and non-production environments
  • From the business side: work for over 700 users using the Cognos ecosystem applications from a few countries. Our customers are both finance teams (such as accountants, controlling, treasury or consolidation teams) and all the managers and team leaders. They use the Cognos ecosystem both for reporting actual, budget and forecast
  • Work on Windows Servers (the older version is 2016, the newest: 2022) on-premise both using RDP connections, by Excel add-ins and by a web browser. We have 15 virtual machines in the production environment and 5 in non-production. We have about 10 TM1 instances
  • Verify and analyze information from users and create solutions based on business requirements, including lead projects, develop and provide support for the business users
  • Work using two redundant data centers and work within two Active Directory domains (in both data centers)
  • Use git
  • Assume the role of coordinator of numerous tasks and projects that will be aimed at adapting solutions to the needs and requirements of our internal clients
  • Cooperate with third party vendors
  • Be responsible for cooperation with external suppliers
  • Be responsible for maintaining and managing the infrastructure and security of subordinate systems
  • Application support and involvement in new functionalities/rollouts implementations
  • Track and resolve your own tickets
  • Close cooperate with business/key users
  • Be preparing business documentations and functional specifications
  • Have access to professional tools and the opportunity to constantly develop your skills

  • Annually, over 100 Allegro engineers - as participants and speakers - go to conferences in Poland and abroad (Europe and USA). We actively use the training budget. If you want to develop - we will always help you with it
