Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based services and applications for IoT solutions
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate IoT devices with cloud platforms
- Implement scalable and secure cloud architectures that handle large volumes of data and real-time processing
- Optimize cloud services for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Develop and maintain APIs for device communication and data exchange
- Ensure data security and privacy by implementing best practices and compliance standards
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to cloud services and infrastructure
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and IoT
- Some on call required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on cloud services and IoT
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (preferred), AWS, Azure
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java (required), Python, or Go
- Experience with IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP) and edge computing
- Knowledge of microservices architecture with a proficiency in Spring Boot and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automation, monitoring)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- This role is a remote role available in California, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Utah. Ability to work in Los Altos CA for quarterly on-sites is preferred
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
