Expedition Technology, (EXP), in Herndon, VA is seeking an experienced Cloud Development Software Engineer to join our collaborative team. We support the Department of Defense and Intelligence Communities by developing ground-breaking applications that combine signal processing and image processing with artificial intelligence/machine learning capabilities.

If you join us, you’ll combine Cloud engineering and software engineering skills to work with a team tasked to design, develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will focus on building scalable, resilient and containerized applications within the AWS ecosystem that support high-side and low-side development.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage cleared Cloud deployments using C2S
  • Work with a team to manage existing AWS infrastructure in GovCloud
  • Utilize your DevOps skills to maintain and support software engineering efforts
  • Employ your software engineering skills to design and develop CloudFormation templates for reusability, and use Lambda or ECS Fargate code for logic implementation
  • Reach across cleared and uncleared environments to develop compatible infrastructure

Required Attributes:
  • United States Citizenship – this position requires an active US government issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance for which you must be a US Citizen to obtain
  • An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • At least 8 years of backend-focused software engineering experience
  • Experience with Cloud deployments in a cleared environment
  • Experience with DevOps best practices
  • Containerization experience
  • Prior support of CI/CD development
  • Experience with developing CloudFormation templates
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Very nice to have:
  • Backend software engineering expertise to understand developers’ needs and the ability to write code to facilitate complicated infrastructure tasks
  • Kubernetes experience
