Software Engineer, CSS - Mountain View
Who we are At City Storage Systems, we're building Infrastructure for Better Food. We help restaurateurs around the world succeed in online food delivery. Our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality and convenient for everyone. We're changing the game for restaurateurs, whether they’re entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant all the way through to your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.
Who You Are:
- A passionate software engineer with at least 4 years of experience in backend development, preferably using Go or Java.
- A problem-solver who thrives in tackling diverse technical challenges and demonstrates a clear track record of growth and learning.
- A take-charge individual who exhibits ownership and takes pride in writing clean, maintainable, and fun code.
What You'll Do:
- Build & evolve scalable, reliable distributed systems to solve key business challenges.
- Own & improve the core infrastructure (message bus, sharding service etc.) that powers the business-critical applications.
- Simplify infrastructure with abstractions for developing robust multi-region active-active software.
- Actively participate in contributing to the team's open-source efforts.
Bonus Points:
- Expertise in Go development is a major plus.
- Experience building distributed applications is highly valued.
- Familiarity with PSQL, CockroachDB, Kubernetes (k8s), and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a significant advantage.
