EGIDE is building a new European defense leader focused on scalable, intelligent air-defense architectures. We develop mass-use interceptors and mission systems that combine missile- grade performance with modern embedded computing and advanced autonomy.
We are growing fast and assembling a world-class technical team driven by ambition, engineering rigor, and real operational impact. If you want to help shape the future of European defense innovation, this is the place.
About the RoleWe are seeking a Software Engineer (C++/Python) to design and build the Command & Control (C2) and Mission Planning software at the heart of our interceptor systems the layer that turns sensor data and operator intent into optimized, executable engagement plans.
This is a deeply algorithmic role. You will translate hard applied-mathematics problems trajectory optimization, multi-target allocation, path planning, sensor fusion, and real-time decision-making into high-performance, reliable production code. You will own components across the full lifecycle, from mathematical formulation and architecture to implementation, testing, benchmarking, and deployment, working side by side with system engineers and guidance/estimation specialists.
What You'll Do1. C2 & Mission-Planning SoftwareDesign and implement robust, scalable architectures for command-and-control and mission-
planning systems
Build the planning core: engagement scheduling, target interceptor allocation, and real-time
replanning under uncertainty
Develop high-performance components in C++, with clean Python bindings for usability and
extensibility
Ensure clean, well-defined interfaces between low-level compute and high-level operator-
facing logic
Formulate and solve optimization problems (constrained, combinatorial, and real-time) for
planning and resource allocation
Implement trajectory and path-planning algorithms, state estimation, and sensor/data fusion
Translate mathematical and physical models into efficient, numerically stable code
Analyze algorithmic complexity and guarantee performance under strict real-time constraints
3. Performance & Reliability
Write unit and integration tests to guarantee correctness of safety-critical logic
Design and run benchmarks to validate latency, throughput, and numerical stability
Maintain high code quality through best practices and code reviews
Strong software engineering skills in C++ and Python, with a solid grasp of software architecture and design patterns
A strong applied-mathematics foundation: optimization, linear algebra, probability/statistics, numerical methods
Experience turning mathematical models or algorithms into efficient, production-grade code
Experience building Python bindings and clean, maintainable interfaces
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
Experience with automated testing frameworks
The ability to promote and enforce good engineering practices across a team (code quality,
testing, tooling, workflows)
Knowledge of operations research, optimal control, estimation (e.g. Kalman filtering), or
graph algorithms
Experience with mission planning, robotics, autonomy, guidance/navigation, or multi-agent
systems
Familiarity with real-time or safety-critical systems
Experience with scientific computing, benchmarking, and profiling tools
A proactive mindset for improving team-wide engineering practices, tools, and workflows
Experience in early-stage or R&D-driven projects
Familiarity with human-machine interfaces (HMI) for operator-facing systems
Experience with QGroundControl (or similar ground control station software)
Build the future of European defense capability
Work on real systems that fly fast
Solve genuinely hard algorithmic and mathematical problems with direct operational impact
Competitive salary + meaningful equity
100% health coverage
A high-autonomy engineering culture
A chance to shape a category-defining company from the ground up
If you want to work on cutting-edge defense systems, challenge yourself technically, and contribute to strategic European autonomy, we'd love to talk. Our recruitment process:
1. First phone screen
2. Deep dive
3. Case study
4. On-site final meeting
