The Role: 

We’re looking for a strong Jr. Mid to Mid-Level engineer with 2-5 years experience who is passionate about creating data-driven, intuitive software applications from the ground up to solve for our customers’ needs. As a Software Engineer, Backend, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and developing scalable, market-leading solutions using technologies like Python with type hints, PostgreSQL, and AWS. You will collaborate with talented engineers, product owners, and the co-founders to turn innovative concepts into reality. What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python and AWS amongst other technologies. 
  • Partner in the design, architecture, development, code review, and testing of all company applications to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to define feature requirements and deliver the product that materially impacts the business and solves customs’ needs.
  • Build seamless, maintainable backend APIs and data input workflows.
  • Roll up your sleeves and code, showcasing the elegance and efficiency of your experience and problem-solving.
  • Partner with other engineers in a collaborative way, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Embrace being at an early-stage company where duties include unit testing, writing tickets, and documentation.

Experience we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer, in environments that underwent tremendous growth and scale.
  • Proficiency with modern, production Python using type hints and PostgreSQL
  • Strong experience with backend services and cloud computing platforms (AWS)
  • Experience and interests in data input, database design, data modeling, and optimization techniques.
  • Ideally, have helped build a web-application or major feature versus predominately maintenance activities.
  • While it would be a plus to have experience with certain technologies (GraphQL, REST APIs, Dagster, Airflow), it’s not required. You should, however, be excited to and capable of quickly learn new technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
