Get to Know the Role

We are looking for Backend Engineer specializing in Java to join our engineering team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing robust and scalable server-side applications that power our cutting-edge products. You will be reporting to an Engineering Manager. This role is onsite based on Jakarta.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Develop, and maintain scalable, and secure backend systems using Java and related technologies
• Collaborate with other teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex issues
• Participate in code reviews and help improve our development practices
• Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
• Integrate third-party services and APIs
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment
• Stay up-to-date with new trends and technologies in backend development

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in backend development using Java
• Strong proficiency in Java programming and the Spring Framework
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL)
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies
• Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Programmer) will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of scalable and distributed systems is beneficial
