Software Engineer, Android

We're looking for an Android Engineer to take ownership of our Android development efforts and contribute to shaping our mobile app vision.

• Own the development of Pika’s next-generation Android applications, ensuring top-tier performance and seamless user experiences.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to design and implement features that delight users.
• Drive the overall technical vision and architecture for the Android platform, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Mentor and guide other Android engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align on product goals and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
• Stay at the forefront of modern Android frameworks, tools, and design trends, driving continuous improvement.

• Seasoned professional, experienced in building and shipping consumer-facing Android applications.
• Mastery of Kotlin and expertise in the Android ecosystem, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and related tools.
• Direct work on UI/UX with modern frameworks and a strong understanding of Design principles.
• Proven track record of leading engineering efforts for apps live in the Google Play Store, showcasing exceptional design, functionality, and performance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience mentoring engineers and fostering team collaboration.
• Passion for user-focused design and an eye for detail.

• Experience building video or multimedia apps is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of core animation, graphics, and media frameworks.

• Competitive salary: $225,000–$275,000, depending on experience and location.
