Job Details
Phlexglobal and Pharmalex are now a part of Cencora and as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in Colchester, United Kingdom.
The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain high quality secure software tools. This position requires strong technical and communication skills as well as the ability to work both independently and with a team.
Key Activities

• I can fix moderately complex bugs in code I am familiar with
• I can debug and fix basic bugs in code I am unfamiliar with
• I can independently build new code if I am provided with architectural assistance
• I have a very good understanding of .net and C#
• I know and can apply SOLID principles and software design patterns such as Dependency Injection
• I can write reliable unit tests either in TDD or post-implementation to 80% of code coverage
• I can encourage, mentor, and build the skills of junior developers
• I can review all code against coding standards and provide constructive feedback
• I collaborate effectively with testers and DevOps
• I can diagnose any Third Line support enquiry in code I am familiar with and basic support enquiries in unfamiliar code.
• I can understand and resolve the root cause of support issues to prevent reoccurrence
• I understand that we work as a team and the team succeeds or fails together
• I actively contribute to sprint planning meetings and development task estimations
• I understand the need for efficiency in code and can avoid writing inefficient code
• I understand common security vulnerabilities and avoid introducing them in my code

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working in Microsoft .NET / C#
• Utilizes Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with Databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQL
• Good problem-solving skills
• SOLID principles
• Dependency Injection
• Unit Testing
• Understanding of REST web services
• Web UI development (including JQuery, React/Angular)
• Interacts with and influences colleagues, may oversee others or make decisions which impact routine work assigned to individuals or stages of projects
• Has working level contact with customers, suppliers, and partners. Understands and collaborates on the analysis of user/customer needs and represents this in their work.

• Applies a methodical approach to routine and moderately complex issue definition and resolution.

• environments.

Required Training & Education

• Has a thorough understanding of recognised generic industry bodies of knowledge and specialist bodies of knowledge as necessary
• Has gained a thorough knowledge of the domain of the organization
• Able to apply the knowledge effectively in unfamiliar situations and actively maintains own knowledge and shares with others
• Rapidly absorbs and critically assesses new information and applies it effectively
