Description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by developing advanced software solutions that enable large-scale data processing, algorithm development, and mission-critical analytics. This role designs, develops, and enhances complex software systems supporting real-time processing, scientific computing, and data exploitation. Working within a collaborative Agile environment, the Software Engineer develops innovative software capabilities that improve system performance and support evolving Intelligence Community mission requirements..

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications supporting data processing, analytics, and mission operations.
  • Develop software solutions using Java, Python, SQL, MATLAB, C/C++, and related technologies.
  • Design and implement algorithms supporting high-performance processing, scientific computing, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Analyze user and system requirements to develop software designs that meet performance, scalability, and mission objectives.
  • Modify existing software to correct defects, improve performance, and support new hardware or operational capabilities.
  • Develop and optimize database queries, interfaces, and data repository solutions.
  • Integrate software components into existing and emerging system architectures.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system test procedures to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Review software designs, technical documentation, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Utilize containerized technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to support software deployment and operational environments.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing software using Java, Python, SQL, and MATLAB.
  • Experience programming in C/C++.
  • Experience designing and implementing algorithms for data processing, analytics, or scientific computing applications.
  • Experience developing software supporting large data sets, real-time systems, or processing-intensive applications.
  • Experience developing database queries and working with relational or enterprise data repositories.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with DVT and software validation techniques.
  • Experience supporting full-stack software development.
  • Experience integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software solutions.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments using Git, Jira, and related collaboration tools.
Salary RangeUSD $115,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
