General Responsibilities:
- Expected to have a significant impact within the immediate department, driving innovation and leading strategic initiatives.
- Develops efficient solutions to problems with no known resolutions, designs and implements frameworks, and implements processes and tools to address complex challenges.
- Leads implementation of product, process, automation and/or streamlines work with industry best practices or revolutionary ideas, contributing to measurable improvements at the Department level.
- Enables and unblocks new business strategies through the development of new processes.
- Mentors all team members, actively participates in the hiring process, leads business improvements, and plays a key role in performance management.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Leads project teams through architecture, design, development, testing, and delivery of web applications for customer projects.
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders to elicit requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progress.
- Partners with project management and project teams to maintain status reporting, ensure accurate and clear requirements, and promptly escalate issues.
- Oversees the technical documentation of project requirements, developer processes, and end-user documentation.
- Drives continuous improvements in software engineering practices.
- Defines, measures, and meets relevant development milestones.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor Engineers at varying experience levels.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 7+ years of experience working within software and web application development environments, including 4+ years of experience managing teams.
- Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban or SCRUM) as a development manager.
- Proficiency in using Jira for Agile project management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (B2+)
- Deep understanding of the software development life-cycle and a successful track record of delivering software on time.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while navigating ambiguity.
- Proficient in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
