Position Overview:
The Embedded Intern will work on development and validation activities across DSP, amplifiers, controller firmware, and embedded Linux-based systems. This role offers hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems, firmware development, and Linux bring-up for professional audio devices. The intern will collaborate closely with both hardware and software teams to accelerate product feature development, improve system reliability, and enhance network-based update mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in device setup and configuration for system verification to identify edge cases in module development.
- Collaborate with the hardware team on amplifier, DSP, and controller board for bring-up, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Contribute to firmware development for micro-controller boards, focusing on low-level driver integration, communication interfaces, and system initialization.
- Evaluate and integrate open-source components to enhance network-based firmware to update performance and reliability.
- Participate in embedded Linux development using the Yocto Project, including kernel and user-space integration, build optimization, and application packaging.
- Document test results, development progress, and key technical learnings to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and DSP fundamentals.
- Experience in C/C++ programming with a basic understanding of firmware and low-level driver development.
- Familiarity with the Yocto Project, Linux build systems, or bootloader development is a plus.
- Exposure to networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP, or firmware update mechanisms, is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
