Objective of the position
In this role, you will design software for existing and upcoming Stoneridge products, such as CMS. You will work in a team of more than 10 professionals and report to the local Staff Engineer. You will contribute to a design that meets the quality, cost, and performance targets defined for the project. Attention shall be given to the creation of (production and design) documentation to ensure predictability and traceability of design decisions. Additionally, a key objective is to facilitate the transfer and sharing of expert knowledge across different projects.
Characterization of activities
- Design, develop, and integrate embedded software programs based on stakeholders’ requirements.
- Follow the ASPICE V-Cycle reference model recommendations. (SWE1, SWE2, SWE3, SWE4, SWE5, SWE6).
- Perform unit test, debug, and maintain the developed software programs.
- Be a part of code and design reviews of the software teams.
- Work, collaborate, communicate and be a part of the larger software team.
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
Education, Experience and Knowledge
- BSc in Engineering, or equivalent industry experience;
- Core Embedded Software Skills: Embedded systems development, strong C/C++ programming expertise, and familiarity with MCU and SoC architectures;
- Development Tools & Methods: Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket), Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), and software configuration/build systems (e.g., Make, Ant);
- Embedded Platforms & Technologies: Knowledge of embedded operating systems (QNX, Embedded Linux, OSEK) and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet);
- Software Engineering Practices: Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS-NG), software architecture and design (UML), integration and qualification techniques, and MISRA coding guidelines;
- Advanced & Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive), functional safety (ISO 26262), cybersecurity (ISO 21434), open-source development (FOSS), and scripting languages (Python, Perl);
- Soft Skills: Proficiency in English, strong teamwork and communication skills, adaptability to new work environments, and ability to work both independently and as part of a larger design team.
