As a Network Software Test Engineer, you'll participate in the full software development life cycle. You will work on big and small projects, building innovative technologies from scratch in areas such as Network Operating Systems, Linux Networking, and advanced Network Monitoring.
Achieve high-impact milestones contributing to our success
Our team is responsible for developing software running on many Akamai switches and routers and Host Networking on our Cloud Compute Servers. We are also involved in creating monitoring systems for modern network topologies in data centres.
As a Senior II Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:
- Design and implementation of tests and test frameworks for highly scalable and secure software.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and code development.
- Testing and monitoring software performance within the Akamai system.
- Learning about our distributed systems, products, and the technical stack as necessary for your role.
- Contributing to internal research processes, methodologies, and approaches to create and share best practices.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have development experience using Python.
- Be familiar with Linux environment and internals (networking, security)
- Have experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Docker, Ansible etc.),
- Have good knowledge about L2/L3 Computer Networks (switching, routing).
- Have good understanding of agile software development lifecycle.
- Have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
