Within the Edge & Applications Networking Engineering group, our team is responsible for testing all products and technologies. We design and build automation infrastructure using an AI-native strategy for testing certificate provisioning systems, working closely with other engineering teams to validate features. We focus on system integration testing that simulates actual, real-world conditions and test the systems for functionality, performance, scalability and resiliency aspects.

Role Overview: 

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) who is excited to apply an AI-native approach to Quality Engineering across the SDLC—test strategy creation, test automation, failure triage, synthetic data generation, code understanding, and reliability/performance validation. In this role, you will help build standardized, repeatable AI-assisted workflows and automation foundations that enable teams to detect, diagnose, and resolve issues faster with higher confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation Framework Development:
  • Build and maintain scalable test automation scripts for end-to-end certificate provisioning tests covering all the customer use cases. 
  • Develop "Self-Healing" test suites that use AI to adapt to UI or API changes, reducing the maintenance overhead of end-to-end tests. Prototype “self-healing” approaches (where appropriate) that leverage AI for:
    • Automated suggestions for fixing flaky tests
    • Faster updates to tests when CPS product behavior shifts
• AI-Native Triage & Automated Debugging:
  • Develop AI-driven tools to automatically categorize and root-cause failures 
  • Build prototypes that use LLMs to classify test failures (environment vs test vs product) and generate:
    • Probable root-cause hypotheses
    • Next debugging steps
    • Suggested code/test fixes based on logs and artifacts.
    • Integrate with CI logs and test results to produce actionable summaries.
• Synthetic Test Data & Scenario Generation
  • Use AI to generate complex synthetic test data and edge-case scenarios aligned to feature behavior and production patterns.
  • Validate datasets for realism, coverage, and privacy/safety requirements.
• Observability & Smart Monitoring:
  • Enhance observability pipelines to track certificate health metrics, using AI to establish baselines and detect anomalies. 
  • Implement automated dashboards that correlate global traffic patterns with certificate deployment success rates.
• Resiliency & Chaos Engineering:
  • Design and execute "Chaos Engineering" experiments to simulate various real-world scenarios that test the resiliency of systems under test.
  • Extend performance testing frameworks to stress-test high-concurrency provisioning events including mass certificate rotation events.

To be successful in this role you will: 

• Have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Have demonstrated experience in developing  test automation for UI and backend in Python, Java, C++, Go, or a similar language
• Have a foundation in computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, systems, networks, internet technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS and databases.
• Be passionate about solving large scale distributed systems problems
• Have experience working in Linux/Unix environments and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
• Enjoy working as a team, collaborating and solving problems with others
